One of 24 elementary schools in the Clarksville-Montgomery School system, Burt School opened in 1952 as a segregated high school for African-American students. Burt remained a segregated high school until 1970, when it was changed to an integrated seventh grade facility. The building became an elementary school seventh grade students attending Richview Middle School when it was opened in 1980. Currently,Burt Elementary and St. Bethlehem Elementary share one school zone with K-2 attending St. Bethlehem and grades 3-5 attending Burt.
